The WSBN has established rules as the regulatory agency enforcing the Nurse Practice Act of Wyoming (NPA) under §33-21-129 requiring the renewal of all Nursing licensure and certificates biennially every EVEN calendar year
Yes, even though you got your license for the first time this year, you will still need to renew it.
Failure to renew will result in your license expiring. If your license is expired you CAN NOT PRACTICE effective January 1st. If you practice without an active license, your license will be subject to discipline.
Failure to receive a renewal notice from the Board is not an excuse.
Renewal will take place between October 1st (TUE) and close on December 31st (TUE) of 2024
In order to begin your renewal process you will need to start with: Determining if you have met competencies
Please plan ahead and complete your Continuing Educations (CEU's)
Make sure to either save a screenshot to upload with your application or print a copy of the certificate of completion to send in at the end of each CEU for proof of completion
Next, submit a complete application for renewal on your nurse portal and pay the associated fees with it. We can not process your application until the correct application has been submitted and paid.
Finally, pay attention to your nurse portal. Particularly your message center.
This is where you will receive notice of anything further required with your application as well as the current status of your license.
